About Us

For most of his working life Robert has been involved in the world of Education.   Alongside his professional career, he has delivered programmes that explore the writings of Christian thinkers and help Christian people to overcome their fear of asking questions and to think Christianly.  He seeks to enlarge their mindsets, engage with wider cultural issues and their own world-view – helping them to increase and mature in their faith.

Robert has also worked with church groups and young people, in a local community advice centre and in a hostel for ‘street sleepers.  He greatly enjoys working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and particularly those that are enquiring, interested, ‘thinkers.  His passion is to encourage deeper thinking about current issues that threaten and stifle meaningful and fulfilling life.

As well as his academic qualifications, Robert has a Certificate in Counselling and a Higher Education Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychology.

Robert initially worked in the NHS as a medical scientist, before moving on to enjoy many years as a lecturer in Higher Education.  During that time, he has met and worked with many students finding his work fulfilling and rewarding.  Since ‘retirement’, he continues to teach part-time in – working with students of complementary therapies.

Robert’s life passion is for teaching and learning in a way that enables his students to be fully engaged interactively and to learn in a way that challenges, emancipates, and brings bigger thinking.

Robert has been married to Elizabeth for 50 years with whom he has pursued his journey through Christianity and shared interests in the natural world, walking and collecting books.

Robert reads widely but particularly enjoys works of Christian writers – CS Lewis is a special favourite.  He has an interest in philosophy and social history and has been investigating his own family history.
